Heroic replace Virtus.pro at IEM Oakland

Łukasz Twardowski | 8 listopada 2016, 21:58

Virtus.pro has decided to withdraw from Intel Extreme Masters Oakland due to an intense and stressful travel schedule. Their spot will be taken by the players of Team Heroic.

„It was a hard call to make, but after long and careful consideration we have decided to withdraw from IEM Oakland. It’s been extremely hard as we know how much our fans on West Coast have been looking forward to see some real VP action. We’ve had a very hard period during last couple of months with tournaments and online qualifiers filling almost every single day. Today we feel that to keep on performing on top level and make sure we deliver the right emotions to all our fans worldwide we need to make a small break and concentrate on upcoming events. California, we now have a debt to pay, so see you next year!”, said Roman Dvoryankin, Virtus.pro General Manager

With Heroic replacing Virtus.pro the current list of IEM Oakland participants looks as follows. The last four spots will go to four top teams of iBUYPOWER Masters.

  • Team Liquid
  • mousesports
  • Natus Vincere
  • SK Gaming
  • Ninjas in Pyjamas
  • Astralis
  • G2 Esports
  • Heroic

Intel Extreme Masters Oakland will take place on November 16-20 and will feature $300,000 prize pool. Tickets are still available here.
