Alibaba announces $5.5 million league

Alibaba, a brand behind  Alisports, has announced a league with $5 500 000 in prize pool. It will host Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Dota 2, Hearthstone and StarCraft II tournaments.

World Electronic Sports Games will have $1 500 000 for CS:GO and Dota 2 each, while Hearthstone and SC2 tournaments will offer $300 000 and $400 000 consecutively. First qualifiers are set to start in April.

LAN finals of the opening season will take place in Shanghai in December. For future events, WESG plans to host finals in other places.
